Frequently asked questions about upgrading from SyncBackSE to SyncBackPro

I bought SyncBackSE. How much is it to upgrade to SyncBackPro?

You will enjoy a discount for upgrading to SyncBackPro from SyncBackSE depending on when you purchased your license/s. Upgrade volume discounts are also available. Visit the upgrade store for pricing. Volume discounts are available.

You cannot purchase more upgrade licenses than the number of SyncBackSE licenses you already have. For example, if you have 1 SyncBackSE license then you cannot buy 2 SyncBackPro upgrade licenses.

I did not buy SyncBackSE. How much is it to buy SyncBackPro?

Visit the store for pricing. Volume discounts are available.

What other options for upgrading are available?

If you purchase Upgrade Assurance then you will receive free upgrades while your subscription is active.

Would you explain your update/upgrade policy?

All minor updates for both SyncBackSE and SyncBackPro are free. To upgrade earlier versions to current release version see this article.

For major upgrades there will be a small upgrade fee, but this will be in line with our low pricing policy. Although licensees are advised to upgrade to the latest version, there is no requirement to do so (the software will not stop working), though technical support may end for older major versions.

Note that it is not free to upgrade from SyncBackSE to SyncBackPro, just as it is not free to upgrade from SyncBackFree to SyncBackSE or SyncBackPro.

Do I need to upgrade from SyncBackSE to SyncBackPro?

No. If you are happy with SyncBackSE, and do not require the extra features in SyncBackPro, then there is no need to upgrade.

Can I have SyncBackSE and SyncBackPro installed at the same time on the same computer?

Yes. SyncBackSE and SyncBackPro are installed by default* to different folders and store their settings in different folders. When you first run SyncBackPro it will import your SyncBackSE profiles.

* If you specify a custom install location, you should ensure this segregation is maintained. Do not install SyncBackSE & SyncBackPro to the same folder!
