After a while my profiles run very slowly. Why?
One possible cause is anti-virus software. Anti-virus software often scans new or modified files, e.g. the On Access Scanning (OAS) feature in ZoneAlarm does this. Try temporarily disabling the anti-virus software and running tests to see if that is the cause. Note that you may need to reboot for the change in settings to take effect. If the anti-virus software is the cause contact their technical support for assistance in resolving the performance issue. You may also try defragmenting your drive (not relevant if you are using a solid state drive). Other possible reasons are that memory is running low or other programs are using the CPU, drive, or network.
