Q: How many computers can I install SyncBackSE/Pro on?
If you are a personal/home user, backing up your personal data (home use) only, you may use 1 SyncBackSE/Pro license to install on up to 5 computers.
If you are using SyncBack for business/commercial purposes, then a separate license must be purchased for each installation of SyncBackSE/Pro (including one per virtual machine). Installing the program on a server, or on a single workstation used non-simultaneously by multiple people, counts as one installation.

Q: Is the SyncBackSE/Pro purchase cost shown in your webstore an annual subscription or a one-time fee?
All 2BrightSparks software are perpetual licenses and will last indefinitely for the version purchased. Current license owners get 3 months of free basic support. Minor version updates/fixes are free as long as the version remains “current”.
If a new major version is released, previous license owners can either purchase an upgrade license or continue using their existing license indefinitely (support for outdated SyncBackSE/Pro versions will not be provided).

An optional subscription plan called Upgrade Assurance is also available as an add-on with your SyncBackSE/Pro purchase. Subscribers get extended priority support and upgrade to future major versions for free. Read more about it here.
Q: I entered the serial into SyncBackSE/Pro but it's not accepted. SyncBack is asking me to upgrade even though I entered the correct serial number.
If you have difficulty activating your license, please check the following:
1. Ensure the SyncBack program/version installed matches your purchased license. SyncBack serial will only work for the corresponding version purchased.
2. Ensure you have installed the most up-to-date version of your program.

3. Ensure the full serial key is correctly entered and check for typing mistakes in your entry.

Q: I can't find my serial number.
Note that SyncBackSE/Pro are commercial licensed products and requires the purchase of a valid license/serial to activate it. If you have not already done so, you can purchase your SyncBackSE/Pro license here.
If you have purchased SyncBackSE/Pro previously and lost your serial, you can use our Serial retrieval page to get them.
Q: Is a serial number needed to evaluate your programs?
You do not need a serial number to evaluate our software. Select the Evaluate button on the Serial Registration window to start your 30-days evaluation period.
Q: Is my SyncBack purchase eligible for a free upgrade to the current version?

Q: Are there any restrictions or procedures to move the SyncBack license from one computer to another?
We do not place restrictions on moving your license from one computer to another, provided that the program is not installed on more than the number of computers/devices for which the number of licenses have been purchased (although a short grace period is fine while you check the new install is working).
